In September 2024 I had the opportunity to purchase a used MTC Voyager Trike kit for my Road Star. It came off a Road Star Silverado so it was a perfect fit for my Road Star Midnight Silverado. You will find many used MTC Voyager trike kits on the used market but there are only three different ones that will actually fit the Road Star. Another factor is that there are variations in the leaf spring lengths that are used among different models and years for the Road Star. MTC Voyager provides a page with details and information to help guide you when purchasing a used kit. If it came off a Harley then it’s likely an A or B frame and it will not fit since it is likely too short by about 3″. There is a serial number on the rear right frame support. If you call MTC they will be able to tell you if it is the correct frame size for the Road Star. Another thing to consider is the specific mounting hardware needed for the Road Star. There is a belly plate and two rear axle brackets with receivers that are part of the kit and they are specific to the Road Star. You can purchase those separately. Below is an excerpt with some details about fitment. You can find the complete document and other details at this link.
The used kit I purchased is the Classic kit. It is the most expensive kit they offer. It has H-D style tail lights, fiberglass flared fenders, 15″ Xcite Gunmetal Machine Faced Wheels, fiberglass rear assembly, and a trailer hitch with a 4-flat connector. It came in black so it matches my bike.
The hardest part of the install (in my experience) was the install of the belly plate. Having a helper is advantageous. You will want to read and follow the directions. If you don’t then you will find yourself having to pull the kit and making adjustments, like I did. Now that I got it dialed in I am very happy with it.
Driving a trike is much different than a motorcycle. You can’t lean to turn and must turn the wheel.
